Structural Design Projects
Structural design is the process of determining the strength and stability of a building or other structure, and of designing its structural elements (such as beams, columns, and foundations) to support the loads to which it will be subjected. Structural design involves the use of engineering principles and calculations to ensure that the structure can safely support the weight of the building and its occupants, as well as any additional loads such as wind and seismic forces. The design process includes selecting materials, determining the size and shape of structural elements, and specifying the types of connections and details required to assemble the structure. The goal of structural design is to create a structure that is safe, stable, and able to withstand the forces to which it will be subjected over its lifetime.
